I have a party invitation to show you today. It is based on the colour splash at PDCC, the sentiment challenge at Wee Memories and the challenge at CAS-ual Fridays (The Cat in the Hat).
I made these for my aunt who is a school Headmistress. She wants to throw a party for students who did a good job this year and specially for the weak students for doing a better job. I have pencil shaded the image and I kept the design minimal because I have to make quite a few of these including gift boxes (party favours) to keep one “Kinder surprise chocolate egg”.
I pierced holes and added a bit of faux stitching. This is my first time stamping a Penny Black stamp correctly. As you guys know I don’t have many inks.. just a few for edge distressing and only two stamp pads in Peony and Sepia. I have tried stamping these Penny Black stamps with the local black ink here but the result was more than pathetic, VERY blotchy. So today I tried ColorBox cats eye queue in Sepia Black (pigment ink) for this and THANK GOD it worked! The sentiment is from Schlosser Designs.
I have been asked one too many times how I give out my excessively dimensional cards, the ones with big ass flowers :D well, all my cards go in coordinating gift bags like the one above or boxes. Here I have used MS score board to make lattice grid on the bag, just to fancy it up a bit. I found the PERFECT ribbon for the bag handles!
GOOD NEWS!!! Two of my projects (both PDCC ones) are being featured at Catered Crop and my project’s recipe is being used for the current challenge (shabby chic using pastel colours). Check it out HERE.
REMINDER: ONLY A FEW DAYS LEFT!! Don’t forget to play along my challenge “Make your own ribbon/fabric flower(s)” at Yvonne’s blog HERE, there is a ribbon prize for the winner. You will also find my ribbon flower tutorial there.
