Verve Week 2

DSC04993

I have a card and a new to me technique to show you today. I used VLV sketch for week 2 this time.

DSC04992

Can you see my colourful background? I applied Versamark on an embossing folder and stamped it on to a white CS, applied clear embossing powder on it and then heat set it. After the CS cooled down I inked it with distress inks and removed the excess off with a damp tissue.

Close up what the background looks like:

Can you see the Cuttlebug embossing folder’s design? I didn’t apply a lot of pressure otherwise I would have gotten a solid damask design, but I like how delicate this one looks.

DSC04999

The flower is handmade, I used the Verve stamps gorgeous tissue wrapping paper to make this and some tulle.

DSC04994

A big chunk of ribbon that I added in place of a CS layer by adding ruffles just to give the card more texture.

That’s all for today.

Ciao!

Verve and Basic Grey

DSC04982

Hello all you creative people! We are still having a lot of power outages here but today the weather is incredibly beautiful. It’s something like right before rain (all cloudy gorgeousness) and cool winds too!

I was rummaging through this big box of goodies that I got from Stef when I started blogging, and found some Basic Grey papers. I thought I’d have a go at the Basic Grey challenge. I used the Verve sketch for week 1.

DSC04976

I added a bit of gold glitter on the Basic Grey paper pieces. All shapes are hand drawn, even the round corners so I apologize in advance if its a bit crooked. I am waiting for the chomper to go on sale at least then I can get good round corners.

The sentiment stamp is from Verve.

DSC04983 I added a wee bit of stitching and some gold glitter on it.

See you guys soon!

A PlayDate with Hero Arts

170620121305

Hello everyone! As I told you in the last post that it’s my first time playing for the Hero Arts monthly challenge, I wasn’t satisfied with my last card as it used only one sentiment stamp. I have another card for you today based on the colour story at PDCC, it features my only HA stamp apart from the sentiment stamps that I have.

00color story 136[1]   sketch170[1]

170620121294 Oh my god, never fussy cut this stamp like I have! LOL I cut all the way between the mini swirls! Oh, by the way I used my ever loyal Crayola markers to stamp these beauties! For the sentiment I used Chipped Sapphire and then outlined parts of “You” with a crayola to give it a 2D look.

170620121304

To make things a little more interesting I cut strips of blue CS, distressed the edges and glued them diagonally on a base cardstock. I added faux stitching to every alternate strip.

If you can see a bit of gloss on the butterfly… I used clear varnish (clear nail polish) on it, twice.

170620121302

The frame is hand cut, I added a bit of faux stitching here as well. Here is another view:

Thank you friends for all the love you have sent my way in form of comments and emails; it means so much that you think my work is worthy of your praise. Thank you!

Leave a comment and I will drop by your place soon!

Going Green!

For Lia Stampz “Summer” post, click HERE

160620121277

Hello everyone! I have a card to show you today. I saw Joy Taylor’s card over at CASE Study and I so inspired! 100_7575[1]

160620121269c

I used the die cut element on her card and used that as a focal point of my card. I added four shades of green water colours. After the paint was dry, I went in and added fluorescent yellow and green with Crayola markers.

160620121276

I didn’t want to use a plain green base so I went ahead and water coloured the background with the brightest and lightest green I had and while it was still semi wet, I drew horizontal lines with various greens of Crayola markers. As most of you know that Crayola’s are washable markers and because I used them on semi wet CS, the colours started to merge together reducing the harshness of the lines.

160620121278This is my first time participating in the Hero Arts challenge. I know I wont be getting anywhere with just a sentiment stamp but this is what I have.

Hope you guys like my card and the lines thingy! Leave a comment and I will stop by your blog for sure. One request, please turn off word verification! The new word verification sucks big time, I can’t read it!! I get it wrong ALWAYS!

xoxo

Lia Stampz: Summer

130620121266 Hello people! This post is a little late as we didn’t have electricity since 11am today.. (it’s 11:30pm now and thank God the power is back on). Anyhoo, the challenge over at Lia Stampz this fortnight is “Summer” and here is my card…

130620121260

I am using “Lia Photograph” on my card today and the umbrella paper you see is also by Lia Stampz. This is a pre release so you wont find it in stores yet. The Polaroid thingy is hand cut.

130620121263

I embossed the pink CS and inked it with VersaMagic cloud white. The sentiment is handwritten.

130620121265 It’s been a while since I have played with so many layers but boy I had so much fun making this one!

I have been catching up on commenting on your blogs (talking to those who commented on the previous two posts), but the power breakdown/ feeder trips is making the process very slow. I promise, if we have electricity tomorrow, I will def stop by your blog.

much love,

~E

Sentimental Sundays: For a Special Guy (Father’s Day)

020620121212 Hello everyone! I am back with a brand new challenge over at Sentimental Sundays and this week the theme is, “For a special guy/ Father’s Day”. Our sponsor this time is Bugaboo Stamps and just like last week, we again have a bonus challenge for you if you choose to accept it, you can enter your creation twice!

020620121211

I have used “Monster Block” mini set for my card. I have coloured the images using Classic Faber Castell colour pencils. The sentiment stamp is by Hero Arts. All square blocks are hand cut so they might look a bit irregular.

That’s it from my side, don’t forget to stop by the Sentimental Sundays blog to check out what this week’s bonus challenge is!

Ciao!

040620121223 Yup, another card! Touch wood, I am on a roll! This time I saw this gorgeous inspiration picture at Inspired By and I wanted to play along Moxie Fab damask challenge as well. My sketch inspiration is drawn from Aga’s card over at CASE Study this week.

040620121221

The paper is a digi overlay freebie by “Queen” (I call her that cuz she is Queen of all things genius!) Mel of Mel Stampz, I framed it with faux stitching. The damask stamp is from Inkadinkadoo, I inked it in black (versamagic and black soot) and embossed it with clear embossing powder then did some fussy cutting.

The flowers are handmade and the frame is hand cut.

Leave a comment and I will drop by for sure!

sketch-3-228x300[1]Here’s my card…

300520121170

This card looks so good in person! I made this for the last week’s CASE Study challenge but was a bit late in posting it.

I added a wee bit of doily to give it a lil extra touch and to enter this at the Moxie Fab doily/lace challenge. The alpha is hand drawn over some scrap cardboard, I coloured it in black and drew white dots. You will be seeing a lot of these alphas in the future because they look absolutely yummy in person!

Leave a comment and I will drop by your blog!

Lia Stampz: Things with Wings

020620121205

Yellowww! How are you all doing today?! This fortnight Lia Stampz is challenging you to use “Things with Wings”. I thought it was a perfect chance to play along a few challenges myself.

00color story 134[1]   6156044892_cd8459874d_z[1]   cfc55[1]

Here’s my card:

020620121201The sweet image is called “Lucy Spring” and you can find it at the Whimsy Store. I have pencil shaded the image.

Detail shot of the bling and glossy butterflies:

020620121203

For the gloss, I used clear embossing powder. The result didn't come out as good as it should have maybe because I water coloured the butterflies? The beautiful tiniest gems are from Pie Lane. For the paint spatters I used local kid’s water colours. Will be entering this card over at Moxie Fab spatter technique challenge too.

I hope you will play along with us at Lia Stampz!

If I haven't stopped by your blog, please leave a comment and I will make sure to leave a little love. Things have been hectic around here since I started selling my cards again on my Facebook page (“Glitter & Swirls”), this why you haven't seen me “blog trotting” much.

Till tomorrow… ciao!
