DSC03824 Studded leaves with pearls

Hello hello!

I was chatting with Karuna (hey there!) this morning. I was telling her how I don’t feel like making anything and BAAAM it hit me so hard, a light bulb moment and here I am sharing my light bulb moment creation with you… a tag.

I made this for a cute little studious girl. She is a very strong child. She was being bullied at her previous school, there were a couple of girls who kept calling her names; nerdy, geek and mostly bookworm. When the family found out they told her to stand up for herself. On her last day at school, when she was being called bookworm, she raised her finger and said “Call me..(pause) PRINCESS bookworm” ROFL!!! Her mother tells this story to everyone and anyone she can and at every chance she gets! Now that she has started her classes at a new school, this gift is a must!

Anyway…The flower was roughly drawn, cut, coloured with crayola (coral) and then embossed. This is a five layer flower.

I don't know if you can tell but the mint green pattern is an animal print and the pale coral one is houndstooth. These were actually one inch background tile images for web pages. I edited them in Photoshop, changed the size and colour and Voila we have pattern paper :P

DSC03826The butterfly is same as the last card, the only difference is that this one has a bit more shimmer. I placed a copper glitter ball as it’s head and the remaining body is made up of chunky glitter (ivory) both are from Pie Lane.

DSC03827 The sentiment is hand written and I have added tons of hand stitching on this one. The lace is distressed with Archival Ink (sepia).

Hope you like it! I think the colour story at PDCC is perfect for a princess!

My Style…

Hey people! Today I have a card for you based on the colour story and PDCC (boy! I got the exact colours this time!) and the challenge at CASE Study “your signature style”. I did one CAS for the CASE study challenge, the studded sandals one, and now this one’s shabby chic.
The flowers are stamped (Posy Patch Flowers from Heartfelt Creations) cut and embossed, sentiment is Fiskars “Make a wish”, the mint and ivory coloured little hearts sentiment frame is from Raindrop Echo (Hi Ann!). The glitter balls, chunky glitter and heart gem is from Pie Lane. The paper and butterflies are digi-freebies.
Edges have been inked with ColourBox (queue) in Coral and Dusty plum along with Archival ink in Sepia.
Detail shots:
DSC03803 I used copper glitter ball as the head of the butterfly and added chunky glitter (ivory) to make the remaining body.
DSC03805 Added chunky glitter (light Coral) here and there around the flowers. The flowers are coloured with Crayola marker in Coral, which I lightened up a bit with a water brush.
I know everyone raises eyebrows “What? Crayolas??? They are for kids!”, but believe me they are excellent for colouring flowers and colouring panels just the exact colour you want plus they are cheap. The colour you get is really very deep and rich. I own a 64 pip-squeaks box and 50 Supertips (silly scents) which I bought from Sadly, we don’t get Crayola’s here anymore.
DSC03809 I added pearls on the lace trim, ran down a glittery ribbon behind the organza ribbon, finished it off with a fancy triple looped bow and a pearl.
Hope you guys like it! Now I wont be short of sentiment stamps, I received my Hero Arts and Fiskars stamp sets a couple of days back along with Martha Stewart score board… one thing I can tell ya, life with a score board is HEAVEN! lol
Happy crafting peeps!!!

Studded Sandals

Yup I am back with another CAS card. I saw Lucy’s rainbow challenge at Ujjwal’s blog and really wanted to play along. Plus the challenge at CASE study is to show us our own style so I thought I’d do one CAS and one shabby chic for their challenge. I was also challenged by Khushboo (crafterkhush) to make a card without my big fat bows or ribbons.
Here is what I came up with.

eeekk cute! LOL You can see these are no ordinary sandals but studded ones! I have placed a diamante in the centre and the straps are made of glitter balls (Pie Lane)! I made this for a family friend’s birthday bash which is going to be at the Marina Club. This was just the perfect stamp to use for her.
I have coloured this with regular Faber Castell colour pencils.
Here is a close up of flip flops.

awwweee I am loving these cuties!

See ya all tomorrow with another card. *hopefully*

Thank You

Hello everyone! It’s sooo windy here today, it was rather hard taking pictures of the card that I have to show you today.

I was browsing through challenge sites and saw the challenge at DYSU, which was “Thank you”. I remembered a card I made when I first received my embossing folders by the picture they have put up to depict their challenge. I thought I should revamp it. You can find the older card HERE, I was pretty untidy back then craft wise :)

My first time at:

It’s a fairly clean and simple card. I took a portion of the Thank You embossed panel for this card. Coloured over the embossed words with silver marker and also outlined the pink panel with the same.

The top white layer is embossed using sizzix texture plate “distressed”. Added a wee bit of lace to make it look more pretty and feminine. Few pearls were added to balance the whole look.

I like this card! So simple right?

Just wanted to remind you to play along my challenge at Yvonne’s blog HERE, there is a ribbon prize for the winner. You will also find my ribbon flower tutorial there. I will also be giving away today’s card along with the ribbon prize :)

Challenges: DYSU, CAS-ual FridaysDDH Challenges, PTW (free-embossing, ribbon, lace) , Kaboodle doodles, OLLCB, Catered Crop (pink, text/script, silver marker, ribbon, embossing ), Creative inspiration paints, Truly scrumptious

Ribbon Flower on a Starry Night

*SECOND post of the day. Don’t forget to COMMENT on the previous card, pretty please :)

Hello bloggers! I have another card based on the colour story at PDCC. I am so not liking that my posts are not showing on the dashboard :/ Most of you have missed my previous CASE Study card so do check it out and don't forget to comment!

The polka dotty ribbon flower is handmade (tutorial coming tomorrow) and the leaves are diecuts (CB), the butterfly was a black and white printout which I coloured with regular Faber Castell colour pencils.

I have dyed the blue paper and then painted over it to get the grungy, distressed look. After it was dry, I inked the edges with ColorBox queue black.

The Pie Lane glitter balls look like stars in the night sky! I should make a card with night sky and glitter balls as stars. *light bulb moment*

I have added pearls on the lace trim ( can’t do without pearls!).

I am loving this blue background!

leaving you today with this image… enjoy!

Challenges: PDCC95, ICR, Challenge up your life, Crafty sentiments, PTW (pearls, Bloom, free-I chose lace)

Gone, but not forgotten…

WOW! Three consecutive days of card making! I am liking it!
Today’s card is based on the CASE Study challenge, we have to CASE one of Chupa’s cards. I picked out her very own and very first Sketchbook Saturday’s card. I participated in the first challenge and made two cards! You can see them HERE.
Inspiration Card:

Chupa’s cards so vibrant and full of life and I wanted to implement that somewhere on my card.
My interpretation with a bright, bold butterfly:

The polka dotty paper is a free-digital download, I have misted it with water. As impatient as I am, I didn't wait for the paper to dry and took the photo anyway, hence the ripples. The ripples aren't there anymore on the original card.
I have coloured over the already coloured printed butterfly with regular Faber Castell colour pencils and Crayola’s black marker. The sentiment is from TradeFish design. I have distressed the edges with Fun Cube in Cocoa and ColorBox queue Black and Lava Black. Added a bit of faux stitching to complete the distressed look. I HAD to put a couple of pearls somewhere on the card!
The hardest part was to arrange the brown polka dotted ribbon. Other than that the card came together pretty fast.
That’s it for today. Please scroll down or click the page header to view the Gingerloft, CASE Study and PDCC cards. DONT forget to COMMENT! (Chanelling Khusboo here :P) Plus I will be posting another card later today so do stop by again!

Gingerloft – Freebie Challenge

Hello everyone! Gingerloft is back in action! The Gingerloft team was taking a break and now we are back with a freebie challenge!

You can pick up the freebie from Gingerloft blog.

Here is what I came up with…

No matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't colour the image LOL so I thought of this… not colouring the image and using it as it is and printing it directly on Kraft cardstock.

I inked the edges with ColorBox queue Black ink and added faux stitching.

Okie dokie that's it for today… If you missed my yesterday’s PDCC card click HERE… I will be back tomorrow with another card!

Today I leave you with this. Enjoy!

To You with Love

Hello everyone! Look at me, I am coloring! It’s been a while since I coloured one of the stamped images I got as RAK. Today I had to make a card for this little boy, his friend’s birthday is around the corner and he wanted a nice card with a “BOY” on it. LOL

I used the colour story at PDCC and Chupa’s card (older blog) for inspiration.

I don’t know where the image is from, I got it as a RAK. I coloured it with regular Faber Castell colour pencils, the clouds are made with Colorbox queue French Blue. The French Blue looks lighter here as I squeezed the last of it on this card, now one more colour that I have to buy!

The butterfly stickers are from Pie Lane. The green scallops layer and the pink border is coloured with Crayola markers. I have added faux stitching on the blue layer. AND if you noticed, I forgot to colour the boy’s hair! LOL

That’s it for today and don’t forget about the Feline Party!

Today I leave you with this HILARIOUS picture, reminds me of the Asian guy in Hangover!

Challenges: PDCC95, CASE Study, Wee Memories, Make it Colourful

CASE Study

Hello everyone! I have another butterfly card for you today… it’s based on the CASE Study challenge which is to CASE any “CASE Study player”. I picked Jen Rzasa’s following card..

Here is my CASEd card...

The butterflies were black and white printouts, I coloured them with Faber Castell (regular pencils). I have added silver glitter balls (Pie Lane) instead of piercing. I chose to omit the sentiment and keep everything white to make the butterflies pop.

That’s it for today. If you missed my tag post, click HERE.

Happy crafting!

Ooooh da budd-ah-flies…

Hello everyone… It’s our Independence day today and it started with a bang… thunderstorm; incredibly strong cool winds and COLD rain! Every thing on my roof, the garden chairs etc just flew away… my cats were so scared! Anyhoo, it was scary but I kinda liked the scary sounds the wind made and the cold rain…

I have a tag for you today and it is based on the PDCC colour story. This the second thing I made for my mum’s friend and it goes with the last card I posted. Her grandson saw the last card and was like “ooohhh da buddddahhflies” LOL I laughed out SO LOUD! Apparently he reads “the butterfly book” which is a kid’s guide to raising butterflies and he is raising DOOH (two) butterflies right now.

This tag has the same butterflies as the last card minus the layered scallops and wood grain texture.

The outer scallops and hand drawn and cut (you can see they are irregular). The butterflies are “coloured printouts” I just coloured over them. Everyone thought I have been colouring the butterflies from scratch… this is not the case… these are original butterfly pictures printed out…

The glitter balls and yellow self adhesive gems are from Pie Lane. The sentiment is from TradeFish Designs (the same one that I used on my last card).

I added a bit of faux stitching and lots of distressing to give it a finished look.

Alrighty, that’s it for today…  I leave you with this picture…

For the love of Butterflies

I thought I was going on a break! :/

My mum’s friend is leaving for London and she wants around 5-6 cards to take with her…  I TOLD my mum I am taking a break and she told her friend… but that lady wasn't listening to anyone… Anyway, I HAD to make her cards… here is the first of five based on the color story at PDCC.

Here’s my card…

The butterflies are printouts and I have coloured over the printout with Crayola markers.

I have used a piece of real wood scrapping/shaving and stamped on it. The sentiment stamp is from TradeFish Designs. The scallops are hand cut. I coloured the scallops with Crayola makers.

I have been asked many times which folder I use to make wood grain texture. I am sure most of you have this, it is CB’s Forest Branches and I use it horizontally to emboss and use the de-bossed part on the card.

Hope this is ok.
