Sentimental Sundays: Paint/Inks

Hello hello! It’s a great day for those of you who like to get their fingers inky! This week at Sentimental Sundays we are challenging you to use “Paints/Inks”. For my card, I have used both inks and paints.

For the red background, I have used Fried Brick, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed and Aged Mahogany. I might be missing a couple of shades here…

I spritz the red background with water and diluted yellow water colours. For the Cheery Lynn doily I used Crushed Olive and I don’t remember the darker shade :/ sorry

I applied a bit of white holographic glitter and added some green bling.

You can see how cool the background looks up close. I also added a few dots here and there with my gold marker.

Sentimental Sundays: Things with Wings

Hello everyone! I hope you all are doing great. Ramadan have started here and today is the second say of fasting.

Sentimental Sundays is challenging you this week with “Things with Wings” theme. Here is my creation based on inspiration picture below.

If you can see bit of stamping on the background, I have used Verve (Text Objects; Gandhi quote) and HA (fabulous flourish). The DP is a digi print, to which I added a few metallic sequins, outlined some flowers and leaves with gold glitter and distressed it using Victorian Velvet and Spun Sugar. The label is hand cut, sentiment is from Fiskars.

I have used spun sugar on the butterflies as well along with pearl paint to give them some shimmer. The stamps are more clear in this picture.

Here’s the complete package with a coordinating gift bag.

My McGill Pine leaf punch got stuck. I cried.. literally cried while fixing it. I just have two leaf punches and I lost one of them! I have tried everything from WD40 to keeping it in the freezer to taking it apart… also hitting it with a hammer! Finally I gave up and purchased their new design at Simon Says, which of course my aunt had to pay for as my credit card NEVER works on SSS even with my country being mentioned in their list. Enough with the rant! I just have to say what a great great great customer service SSS provides! Absolutely the most helpful of the lot.

Neon Fun!

Yo! I am going all NEON on you today! It’s time to wear your sunglasses (wowa! where did the smiley face come from?! LOL)

I don’t have neon inks, but I do have my neon Crayolas!!! Because Crayolas are water based markers, you can actually paint with them using a water brush; this exactly what I did. The yellow looks very decent here in the picture but to tell you the truth it is the highlighter yellow eeek! LOL

This is my first attempt at masking. I know.. NOW I am masking, after all this time?? Well, better late than never!

I added some holographic white glitter to the center petals in all the flowers.

I added quite a few pearls as fillers. All stamps are Hero Arts (CL 184 & CL 351).

The flower is handmade, I used fluorescent orange Crayola marker and wild honey on the edges of the petals.

Digi print butterfly and inked (fried brick) background.

I applied white holographic glitter on the button as well.
