Altenew Storybook Fantasy Stamps/Dies/Stencils/Embossing Folders Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

 

Hello and welcome to the Altenew March Stamps/Dies/Stencils/Embossing Folders Release!

My first project features the Hill Blossoms Layering Stencil Set (2 in 1) and Tall Tale Bookmark Die Set.

I don't remember exactly what inks I used, sorry about that. But I used a mix of ink families for the orange. 

And for the green, I tried to apply ink in a way that it appears shaded. 

For my background, I used the 36 pan Watercolor Set to create a textured watercolor look.

I used the Modern Swans Stamp Set on my card and paired it with the Create-a-Wreath Die Set.

After stamping, I used color pencils to add details to the swan and the lake. Additionally, I drew clouds and created a scene.

As my card front was quite plain, I added scored lines on the front for a textured look.

I stamped the image from the Fairy Tale Florals Stamp Set onto Crest Solar White Cardstock and then heat embossed it in Crystal Clear Embossing Powder. Then I used the Fairy Tale Florals Simple Coloring Stencil Set (2 in 1) and a couple of blue inks to color my images.

Next, I used the coordinating dies to die-cut the image and set it aside. 

For the background, I used Jet Black Watercolor Brush Marker to color.

I will probably share a video tutorial soon. This was a super easy card to create, especially as I didn't spend a lot of time and effort in coloring. The coloring stencils do make the work easier for you!

I used a mix of pan sets to color my flower.

I paired the beautiful flower with the Floral Lace Die.

I absolutely enjoyed creating this card. Love how it turned out. I don't know if the case is the same for you but it is giving me such a winter vibe. I miss winters already, it has started to get too hot here.

Altenew Wondrous World Dies/Stencils/Embossing Folders Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

My first card features the gorgeous Climber Flowers Die Set and the Nesting Slim Rectangles.

By now you must already know that I die-cut my floral layering dies out of the 9x12 Watercolor cardstock (which I ABSOLUTELY LOVE - no exaggeration) and then I use watercolors to color them.

This time was no different :) I even paired the floral die-cut with the Trellis Cover Die which looks PERFECT here!

Also, notice my tiny butterflies? They are from another cover die, will share that in a bit, keep scrolling :)

Now, this I had SO much FUN coloring!

The card features the Tulip 3D Embossing Folder. And on the side (right) is the Diamond Stars 3D Embossing Folder. I know that it is a little hard to see as I take photos in daylight, but gosh! That texture is AWESOME. If you liked the previous geometric embossing folders by Altenew, then you will love this too!

I used Artist Alcohol Markers to color the panel.

For the sentiment, I used the Miss You Die. I cut out the "miss" and paired the "You" with another sentiment. 

Up next is the GORGEOUS Floral Lace Die.

Oh the ideas I had! And the things I could have made. ONLY if I had the time or maybe an extra set of hands. You know that point when you have SO many ideas and you just can't make "all the things" no matter how hard you try because you have other deadlines. Well yes. THAT. 

Oh and lookey! Those butterflies that I used on my first card were from this Radial Butterflies Cover Die.

I colored a panel of A2 Watercolor Cardstock using watercolors from the 24 Pan Set. Let it dry and then ran it through my die-cutting machine with the cover die. Since I don't have any adhesive sheets, I applied them the old-fashioned way by gluing them individually.

My last card features the Daisies 3D Embossing Folder.

Again, I used Artist Alcohol Markers to color the panel. This one I loved so much that I used the complete panel as the card front.

I hope you can see that I colored the flowers differently even though I used the same shades.

Altenew has released a coloring book and two sets of paintbrushes; detailed and round!! WOOT WOOT!!

My colored panel is one of the no-line pages from the book! Yes! It has black outlined images and also very light, grey outlined images too that, as you can see, end up looking like perfect no line watercolor paintings!

I thoroughly enjoyed just coloring this. I wish I had filmed. These types of watercolor projects are long and time-consuming. 

I took way too many photos of my project because and look how I even stepped up my flatlay game LOL I usually avoid other things/props around my project except for maybe something floral. But this was a special occasion :) 

I don't like the last photo above as it's taken from my phone, inside my studio with artificial lights. I am someone who has the luxury of taking photos in gorgeous daylight and artificial light photo straightaway looks like crap to me with harsh shadows. 

But I wanted to share the shot above as well, maybe some of my AECP peeps will find it helpful and we can have a discussion about it.

Here is my watercoloured card.

I used the Artists' 24 Pan Set to color the flowers and the Watercolor Brush Markers for the background.
