Hey!

Happy new year everyone! Last post of the year! I hope the new year is bright and full of great things!

Every year I usually make at least one off white/gold combo Valentine card… So here it is!

301220101101

The sentiments are handwritten… The hearts are hand drawn… I hope you like it!

I have distressed the embossed off white layer with my dried up marker!

With Love

SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM OF THE POST FOR THE FREEBIE.

 281220101090

Hello everyone!

The card that I have to show you today is based on the sketch at Skipping Stones.

281220101089

I finally got my Silhouette SD and I used it to make the two butterflies on this card as well as the big scalloped oval. Still have a bit of hand drawn element in this card. The middle oval layer is hand drawn. My measurements were a little out for the first and the scalloped oval, so I added another layer… I think it looks complete now.

I have shaded all the white areas with a darker tea pink water color pencil. I designed the pattern paper myself using overlays found online. The card looks gorgeous in real life, my cell phone has not captured the real pastel tea pink color of this card. The pink is not SO bright… it is very muted and looks really elegant…

Alrighty! That’s it for today! Happy crafting!

Hello everyone!

I am back with a new card… Here it is!

201220101052

I was in a hurry otherwise I would have used a better font for the sentiment. The sentiment is computer generated. The paper is an internet download. Flowers are punches. I love the BLUE ribbon! AGAIN the brackety frame is hand drawn, this will be the last time. Thanks to Tejal, I now have a template to make these!

That’s it!

191220101044

Hey everyone! Just a quick post. Here is today’s card!

191220101041c

I have used the smaller asterisk die for the flowers, placed flat based pearl in the center and filled up the remaining space with rhinestones. The sentiment is hand written and the brackety frame is hand drawn. I have used three ribbons on this one! The Kraft cardstock kind of looks like cork here… well, it is a cellphone picture…

Alrighty! Catch you soon!

CHALLENGES: Skipping Stones Design, Totally Gorjuss, Critter Sketch Challenge, All Sorts

This completes the grungy, swirly sentiments set. (If you want any other word in the same design, lemme know)

All kinds of crooked!

SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM OF THE POST FOR THE FREEBIE.

11122010994

Hey everyone! The card that I have to show you today is a tall card, and it was almost impossible to take a straight picture… hence the post title! This card is based on the sketch at Skipping Stones Design blog.

11122010992

My printer was almost out of ink hence the lines on the PP. I have designed the PP myself using Photoshop. The sentiment and brackety frame thingy is also done on Photoshop. The flowers are punches and the swirl is hand drawn. The design on the bottom right corner of the frame is part of the white border.

CAS- Clean & Simple

SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM OF THE POST FOR THE FREEBIE

Surprised? Shocked? Yes, I can do a Clean & Simple card! LOL Well at least I am trying to do a few CAS cards. Lets see where that goes!

Here is my card for the CAS challenge at Tuesday Throwdown and a CASE card challenge at The house that stamps built.

08122010957

It was a quick card! Butterfly is a die cut and the sentiment is hand written… I moved the two ribbons at the base, further down compared to the card that was given to CASE.

On another note, remember this card?

24112010865

This was selected as one of the Fab 5’s in 2S4Y. I originally made this card for my aunt’s colleague. He is a senior doctor and is about to leave the job… well the card has reached there (WI,USA) and everyone was drooling over it! Now THAT is SOMETHING!

Keeping my fingers crossed now because my aunt told me that everyone wanted my “website url” to purchase some cards! Isn’t this awesome!? I am so thrilled!

I also have to send at least five cards to New York. A family friend wants to keep them at his store :) We will see how that goes and decide what to do!

WOWSERS!!! I am on cloud 9 people!!!

If this goes well I will be able to pay back my dad for the Silhouette that I recently purchased!

Bouquet of Love! (+Freebie)

****SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM OF THE POST FOR THE FREEBIE****

Oh well this is what I am naming this card! Hey everyone! Thank you to each and every one of you who took time out to comment. LOVE YOU!!! Thank you to those who listened to me and clicked one of the reactions while snagging the last freebie!

On to the card! This card here is made for a friend’s wife. He wanted THIS card in red and white for their anniversary… I changed the flowers a bit. I had my doubts about the color combination but it turned out alright I guess.

15112010773

I have dyed the red paper myself. The fat, roundish flowers and the fringy flower is handmade. I think I should have added one more butterfly on the opposite side. What say you? I still say the first card was WAY better!

P,S: Forgot to add a strip/ribbon that runs behind the white layer. (according to the PTW sketch)

Purple Flower and My Hand drawn swirls…(+FREEBIE)

**** SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM OF THE POST FOR THE FREEBIE ****

01122010917

Hello BLOGVILLE!

Like the flower??? I do!

01122010904

Alrighty, starting from the argyle design… these two stamps are part of the limited edition Schlosser Design’s Autumn Blessings. I used one of the stamps on THIS card. The frame stamp is also from the same company. The sentiment was a gift from, the incredibly sweet, Stef! The swirl is hand drawn. Outlined it with steel grey glitter (Hi Tejal, I know you are smiling!). The flower is hand made. The flower is gorgeous, I have colored it with three shades of purple and two shades of grey. Finished up the white layer with some hand stitching.

The smaller flap/layer is grey people… I distressed it with purple and some sandy colored pencils and chalk inks.

Now the interesting part. The black layer. Can you see its all shiny and glossy? well that is a plain, matte card stock (the same that I have used as a base card) turned into this glossy beauty by spraying it generously (3-4 times) with Lacquer.

If you want to try this, I suggest that you wait between times of spraying… let the first layer dry… otherwise you will have to wait overnight so that you don't smudge the lacquer when sticking it on your card (we are an impatient crowd, no one wants to wait over night). It is an aerosol paint, so I really don't think that you can use your heat gun to dry it LOL. Do this in an open space or a very well ventilated room… you don’t want to have poisoned lungs like mine :P

If you just spray the card stock lightly then you will achieve a shimmery effect. You can leave it at that too, it looks great! This helps giving life to a very plain, un-textured card stock. The more you spray, the glossier it will get.

Let me know if you try this!

Till then!

Quick Christmas Cards!

Hey everyone!

The cards that I have to show you today are not post-worthy… but what the heck!

26112010877

Seeeee!!!! I mean it when I say quick cards! LOL

Meet them individually! First meet Miss Traditional!

26112010879

So! Miss Traditional here is covered in red sequins (no glitter this time folks) and I used a holographic green ribbon for the trunk… The tree is obviously hand drawn! Even a kid can draw a triangle! I could have done so much more with this but I really wanted to make “Quick Cards” for a change! But even these turned out to be not so quick… you will see in a while what I am yapping about!

Now lets meet Mr. Teal!

26112010880

Now isn’t Mr. Teal just gorgeous?! I LOVE this one! These are the same pink tinted silver sequins that I used earlier in the album post. This combo looks amazing in person!

This is how they are from inside.

26112010885

These quick cards became not-so-quick when I started coloring the gifts stamp….but the Miss Traditional and Mister Teal REALLY needed a lift of some sort… Oh say HI to my left index finger nail… first appearance ever! *applause*

Friggin Diamantes/Rhinestones! (Freebies Too)

SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM OF THE POST FOR THE FREEBIES.

24112010869

Hey everyone!

The card that I have to show you today did not take a lot of time to make (half a day- NOT full, only half :P) but the application and assembly of rhinestones was killing! As you can see I made only two tiny swirls… I was going for the readymade rhinestones flourishes look. Change my mind half way!

Here’s the card, it’s based on Laura’s sketch for 2S4Y.

24112010865

The argyle pattern on the blue flap is a stamp from Schlosser Designs. I won three clear stamp sets of my choice in their blog hop. The triangles below the blue flap is a border die cut. The big scallops are hand drawn. The three layers of oval are all templates that I designed using Photoshop. Do you want those? Let me know and I will put em up as freebies.

(click on the image to go to their respective page)

and the inside… Sorry for the bad picture angle… you can do only so much from a cell phone!

24112010874

I love the color combo of this card!

Till next time..hugs and kisses!

Something New and a freebie

SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS POST FOR THE FREEBIE.

All pictures are taken from a cell phone, bear with me please.

Hello hello!
This post is going to have A LOT of pictures. It's not a card that I have to show you today. It is infact a scrapbook of sorts that I made for someone's niece.

I am using BLOGGER today to publish my post so that you guys can click on the pictures to get a clearer, BIGGER  view.
Here we go!

The front main page:

Cute? I know! LOL

The sun, clouds, green land and fences are all hand drawn. The sun is too cute, all glittery and bright!
The flowers are punched.

This is what it looks like after you open it up.
The left flap is the back of the main page/cover. The pages on the right say the girl's name "SAMAA". All the letters of her name are on a different page which makes it 5 pages in all. The backside of all the pages is also decorated. The alphabets are all hand drawn, this is why both the A's look different.

Lets start with "S".

This girl, Samaa.. her favourite colors are pink and yellow, so I tried my level best to keep those two as the main colors. I sprinkled sequins quite generously on the letter! This silver sequin has a tint of lilac and pink.

Backside of "S":

Thanks to TLC for all the sentiments. Without it I would not have been able to make it so interesting. I found almost all related sentiments on that blog. They go SO WELL with the pictures.

On to "A":

Okay, I LOVE this pic of hers! Its FABOOSH! And check out how well the sentiment goes with it! Thanks to Paulette
Do you love the silver frame??? Totally rock chick thing! :o)
Used purple sequins on A.

Now back of "A":

This picture was probably taken at some Halloween party... Do you like the embossing on the frame? It is not the candy cane folder (which I don't have and would LOVE to get my hands on) but the distressed stripes one.

On to "M":

The embossed background and the bold text is highlighted by holographic white glitter. I made this project a little more than 2 months back, don't remember the stamps... the sentiment of course is from TLC.

Backside of "M":

The moon (crescent) and the cute cat are digi stamps. The sentiments again are from TLC.

On to "A":

Here I used glitter pen (gel pen) to highlight the embossed background. The letters "AWSAMM" are the initials of the girls in picture... it's her gang! LOL If you pronounce it in a sweet sixteeny kinda way it goes like "awesome". The sentiments are TLC and Meljen's.

Backside of "A":

Again, I have highlighted the embossed designs with a yellow gel pen. The TLC sentiments are quite generously coated with holographic white glitter.

On to the last "A"

This is Samaa's aunt. The pink and red blooms are hand drawn.

Backside of "A":

This page has pictures of her childhood, her grandparents, parents and aunt. Here too I have highlighted the positive embossed parts with gel pens of respective colors.

On to the last page, the inner side of back page of the cover.

Hope you guys like it! I spent quite a lot of time making this. I do like the end result. But I don't think that I will be making this again!! LOL Too much work!

Big Hugs!
-Erum

Too Late…

Scroll to the bottom of this post for the FREEBIE

Hey everyone! The card I made today was for “Everything but the kitchen sink” challenge… I just noticed that the link was closed… I was too late. Well nonetheless… still like the color scheme and I think I am going to make a few really simple, maybe even one layered cards using this combo…

This card is based on the sketch at Truly Scrumptious.

On to the card…

13112010763

Just used normal lead pencils on the image for the grey… the flowers are obviously colored!

The flower is handmade, coordinated the center of the flower with the fat ribbon (faux button). The white ribbon is a velvet ribbon with holographic threads running through it. It looks awesome in real life, so Christmassy!

I have highlighted the embossed part with a silver color pencil. And the border on the right side is a border die cut. That's it! Hope you like it!

Hugs!

-Erum

P.S: Love the bow, reminds me of Jimmy Olsen ;)

Challenges: Truly Scrumptious (sketch), Inktegrity DT Challenges (flowers and ribbons)
