GL 15 – Got the Blues

DSC03102

Hello bloggers!

I have been feeling way too lazy to make anything. I have loads of ideas but I just cant shape them in a card/project. I made this card for the Gingerloft Challenge this week. The theme at Gingerloft Challenges is “Got the blues”. So take out your blue thingies and start creating.

DSC03096

For my card I have used the Hot Air Balloon Digi Set from Gingerloft store. I sprayed the biggest balloon with lacquer to make it glossy (doesn’t show in the picture, maybe a little bit on the top right). I have coloured the image with water colour pencils in various shades of blue. Used Silhouette to cut the clouds. The sheer thingy you see below the royal blue layer is Turquoise organza ribbon.

This is it for now… I think I will take a few more days off. With the changing weather from bad to worst heat and dry wave, I am having mood swings. In Karachi we don't get to see “Spring”, we just land directly into Summers. Blecchh! Or maybe this is “OUR” spring. Whenever I see the challenges with themes “Spring is in the air, happy spring” etc etc I just feel like making a huge, fat Sun and placing it as a card’s focal point! Ok cue mood swing. Better go.

hugs

Erum.

P.S: Oooh “Male” card! + This is the first time I have used hot air balloons, always wanted to but never got around making something.

Hi E.T.

Gorgeous card and I love how you popped up your focal image (ok..I was for some reason spelling baloon, balloon) LOL.

We have similar weather issues here in Indiana in the U.S. It's either hot or cold..no in between we do not really see summer or fall.

Thank you for joining us at the Digi's With Attitude! Anything Goes Challenge. Good luck and hope to see you again next challenge!

LOL about the "no Spring" bit!!! Sometimes I feel the same way about here in Texas.. Oh, well...
LOVE your card with those adorable hot air balloons! So cute and just "Spring-y" or "Summer-y" looking.

I love how you always do a little something unexpected. This time it's that the clouds and the balloons are blue - not the sky! :) So very striking. And gorgeous coloring, of course! :D

Great male card! Love the blue. Sorry that is how you have been feeling. We do get spring where I live, but the rest of the summers are quite hot. So sorry that is what you have most of the time. Where I used to live it was quite cold most of the time.

Well I totally know how that feels - having lots of ideas in your head but not being able to get them to cards. You certainly had no problem here. This is a gorgeous card, love the 3D effect and just the overall airiness of the card. Thanks so much for playing along with us at the Sisterhood of Crafters.

This is so sweet. Love the water-coloured balloons and the inky clouds. I hear you about having lazy times. I often can't make myself finish cards--I have about 40 unfinished projects--not sure what's with that!? ;O)
