Inspired… again!

14032012892

Hello everyone! I had a surge of mojo today after a long time… saw this pic at Clearsnap blog… and sketch from Verve Stamps.

Valentine Mantel Decor - Sabrina Alery[1]

         VLVMar12Week1Sketch[1]

How beautiful is the decor? Now here is my card based on the inspiration picture above. I turned the sketch CCW and flipped it horizontally.

I have to tell you that this card is beautiful in person and I could do only so much with a cellphone camera. The pattern paper is a digi freebie and is distressed with ColorBox cats eye queue in Black, Lava Black and Colonial Blue.

Here are some detail shots.

I was inspired by the pompoms, colour palette, the ornate frames, heart and glitter.

These flowers are handmade. I tried to play with the wool pompom and tease the ends a bit. I think it looks cute :)

This heart is roughly hand drawn, I sprinkled steel gray glitter on it along with a few sparkly silver bits that are used to decorate henna bowls here.

The flourish you see is by Cheery Lynn Designs.

I added some chunky glitter by Pie Lane to make the butterfly’s body.

This frame is Silhouette cut. I applied some pearly 3D paint on it to give it texture, I then distressed it with Colorbox CEQ in Sky Gray.

The butterfly is distressed with Colorbox CEQ in Old Rose and Dusty Plum.

Added a couple of purple flowers with Pie Lane chunky glitter centers. These flowers are coloured with ColorBox CEQ in Heliotrope.

I did a bit of hand stitching to add more texture.

I swear this card is beautiful in person. I just wish I could take a better picture. Here is another full view and then I am outta here! Ciao! xoxo
